JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN) — A 7.4-magnitude earthquake shook Indonesia on Wednesday, triggering a tsunami watch for all areas of the Indian Ocean, according to forecasters.
The quake was centered 242 km (150 miles) from the capital, Jakarta, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damages.
A series of quakes, ranging in magnitude from 6.7 to 4.7, struck off the western coast of Indonesia’s Sumatra Island last month.
The quakes were recorded in the Kepulauan Mentawai region, a chain of islands popular with surfers.
